2026: The Year of the Fire Horse
February 17, 2026 – February 2027
Jan 15, 2026

Understanding the protective nature of perfection
A new year brings new energetic patterns, and our homes play in important role in anchoring positive change. Just as we reset our intentions every year, our spaces benefit from an annual Feng Shui realignment to enhance energy that will support us throughout the upcoming year.
As we enter the year of the Fire Horse, I ask you to reflect on how different you feel compared to this time last year. 2025 was a profound year of shedding what no longer serves us. The Year of the Snake brought about transformation, unrest, and at times hostile or destabilizing energy. Yet, many of us have been using this intensity wisely, taking small deliberate steps to clear space and create openness for what we truly want to grow.
I personally changed the location of my home in 2025, which was a significant act of letting go. My family and I released an entire way of life to prepare for a longer term vision in a new setting. Looking back on my predictions for 2025, the year definitely felt like one to endure, with adaptability became the cure for constant, unexpected change.
Now in 2026, the energetic support shifts. There is far more momentum available to move forward with intention. Have you had the time, or mental space, to reconnect with what you truly want? Global instability has left many of us feeling powerless or paused, but this year offers an invitation to reclaim agency. Can you give yourself the gift of refocusing on what you wish to bring into existence? (I’ll take a generous helping of world peace, please.)
Fire Horse Qualities
The Horse is associated with movement, courage, independence, collaboration, and yes—continued volatility. This is a powerful year to pursue new ventures, take meaningful steps forward, and act with confidence. However, bold action must be paired with wisdom. Avoid rushed decisions; balance ambition with patience.
This is also a year to refine your voice and speak your truth—beginning with clarity around your purpose. Where can you release resistance in your life? Where are you being asked to move more freely?
Numerology of 2026 — Year 1
I often use numerology, especially house numbers, to gain deeper insight into a space’s energetic tone. The same method can be applied to the year itself.
2026 reduces to 1:
2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1
One is a powerful number associated with new beginnings, leadership, independence, and initiative. In feng shui, it is currently linked with long-term investments and financial potential. Invest wisely, think strategically, and plant seeds for the future.

BaZi Overview of 2026
Every year has a birthdate, just like people. When calculating the chart for the year, we can understand a bit more about the overarching themes and elemental balance shaping the collective experience.
Fire Element — Extremely Strong
Fire dominates the chart this year, bringing vitality, ambition, visibility, and drive. However, excess Fire can also manifest as intensity, burnout, conflict, or impulsiveness.
Support tip: Use red intentionally and in moderation. Incorporate it thoughtfully in your wardrobe or décor—especially in the East and Southeast—to help channel Fire energy constructively.
Water Element — Completely Absent
Water, the wealth element of 2026, is missing from the chart. While momentum is strong, this absence can create frustration around financial flow or the pace of material results.
Support Tip: Be strategic with money. Avoid unnecessary loans, impulsive expansion, or risky financial decisions. Slow and steady truly wins this year.
Adding Water to your environment is highly supportive. If possible, place a fountain or fish tank in your home. The Center, Southeast, Northeast, and Southwest are the most favorable locations for water features in 2026.
Earth Element — Self Element of the Year
Earth appears three times in the hidden stems, indicating competition—possibly from unexpected directions. This is not a year to overshare your plans.
Advice: Move quietly and steadily. Patience over confrontation is encouraged, echoing this year’s I Ching message.
The presence of two Tigers further emphasizes competition, but in an assertive, ambitious way. Use competition as motivation for disciplined growth rather than reactive action.

Flying Stars of 2026
One of the great reliefs of 2026 is a significantly improved Flying Star chart compared to 2025.
At the center of the annual chart (and every home as a result), the fortunate #1 Victory Star replaces the unpredictable #2. This central energy sets the tone for the entire chart, allowing more clarity, momentum and opportunity. We will have more peace in the next few years with the center star leaning very prosperous until 2029. (Whew!)
Here is where the rest of the starts are located this year. Check your Feng Shui, and if you need support, I offer Virtual Annual Updates based on the changing energy of the year.

I Ching for 2026
21. Shih Ho / Biting Through (Fire over Thunder)
Calls for decisive, focused action to overcome obstacles. Persistence is required, but not force. #3 changing line that what is coming to the surface now, is an old issue. It is advised not to battle with excessive force - that only creates extra trouble and aggravates the situation.
30. Li / The Clinging (Fire over Fire)
A reminder to remain anchored in truth and principle. In difficult times, it can be tempting to lose faith that human nature is inherently good. This hexagram teaches that integrity, awareness, and moderation are the fuel that sustains your inner fire.

What is Feng Shui and how does it work?
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system for arranging spaces to improve balance, harmony, and well-being. It examines how layout, furniture placement, color, and environmental elements influence the flow of energy (chi) and how that energy affects daily life, health, relationships, and prosperity.
Is Feng Shui a religion?
No. Feng Shui is not a religion. It is a practical design and energy-based system rooted in observation of nature and environmental patterns. Feng Shui can be practiced alongside any spiritual belief system -- or none at all.
What are the benefits?
Feng Shui helps improve the function and energy flow of homes, offices, and commercial spaces. Clients often experience greater clarity, vitality, productivity, and emotional ease after implementing Feng Shui recommendations. Feng Shui can also support positive shifts in relationships, financial flow, and overall harmony.
What happens during a session?
Our flagship offering begins with a conversation about your goals and how you use your space. Customized energetic maps of your home or business are prepared in advance, using Classical Feng Shui systems, including the Bagua, Eight Mansions (Ba Zhai), Flying Star Feng Shui, and incorporating your own personal Ming Gua lucky directions. During the session, we review your floor plan and walk through each area with specific recommendations for layout, furniture placement, color, elemental, and energetic balance. After the consultation, you receive a detailed written summary and a follow up email with relevant links or items to incorportate. In-person consultations also include a space clearing and energetic reset. Sessions are equally effective whether conducted in person or virtually.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, virtual Feng Shui consultations are available worldwide. Upload your floor plan and photos in advance, and Susan will guide you through personalized Feng Shui adjustments as if you were working on-site.
What types of spaces do you work with?
Residential homes, apartments, offices, studios, and commercial spaces. Susan also also collaborates with developers, architects, and designers on pre-construction Feng Shui reviews to support optimal flow, comfort, and long-term value from the planning stage.
How should I prepare for my Feng Shui session?
Before your consultation, please share your floor plan, address, and birthdates (used to calculate lucky directions) at least one week in advance. It’s also helpful to consider which areas of life you’d like to support, such as health, relationships, career, or finances. If you don’t have a floor plan, an easy-to-use tool will be provided to help you create one. Other than that, leave your place how it usually is! It is best for Susan to see how you are authentically using your space.
How soon will I notice results?
Some clients notice shifts in energy and clarity immediately, while others experience gradual changes over weeks or months. Results depend on consistency and how fully the recommendations are implemented. Many clients report long-term improvements as the space continues to support them.
Can Feng Shui help a home sell faster?
Yes. Feng Shui can make a home feel more welcoming, balanced, and emotionally appealing to buyers. Feng Shui for selling, combined with space clearing, can help refresh a property’s energy and support a smoother, more aligned sales process.
